Playback and Recording Options

This article reviews the various options within Sightreading Coach for Playback and Recording. 

To access these settings in your Sightreading Coach account, open any piece of content and click on Options in the toolbar.

Playback Options

  • Demo Audio—This will playback the notation you are seeing on the screen, typically this is the part you are learning.
  • Backing Track-When available, this will usually be a full band mix, without your instrument that you can use to practice along to
  • Click Track—This will play a click track set to the tempo of the piece or exercise with no music playing at all.

Recording Options

  • Follow Me—This option will allow you to play at your own pace. The cursor will wait for you to play and follow along as you play or sing the correct notes. If you miss a note, the program will wait for you to get it right before moving on.
  • Click Track—This will play a click track set to the tempo of the piece or exercise with no music playing at all.(for best results, please use headphones)
  • Backing Track—When available, this will usually be a full band mix, without your instrument that you can play along to while recording.(for best results, please use headphones)
  • Demo Audio—This will playback the notation you are seeing on the screen, typically this is the part you are learning.(for best results, please use headphones)

Other Settings

By default, we have a built-in, two-measure count-in when using playback. If you would like to turn this setting off, go to My Account and then Application Settings. You will find a check box for Count-in on playback. Click Save if you make any changes on this screen.
